Worship : The Unconditional Love and Unquestioning Devotion

Dictionary meaning of worship is the deep sense of love and adoration for something. Usually people worship God, any supranatural power or people. Worship is considered as the highest form of reverence for the God in different religions and different theologies or different methods of worships are described by different religious Gurus of religions. For worshipping of God different types of religious places are established in different religions like Temples for Hindus, Churches for Christians, Masjids for Muslims, Gurudwaras for Sikhs etc. It is believed that the different form of worships are the different structured ways for realization of that supra natural power within ourselves.

Hinduism considers its origin from Vedic time, approximately 1500 BC to 5th Century BC, these thousand years. It is believed that Vedic Knowledge came to different sages even to Vyasa Muni from Brahma orally and slowly it was transferred to sages and Hindu sadhus through mediation orally. Vedic civilisation was established by

Indo Europeans, who came from particularly Iran or its nearby regions.  During those ten decades, Hinduism took its own shape an origin. In Hinduism, three Gods are considered as the original God and have created other Gods and Goddesses. Brahma (Creator), Bishnu (Nurtures) and Maheswar (Salvation). These deities belong to three regions of Universe, the heaven, the earth, and the intermediate space. Some major deities of the Vedic tradition or mythological time include Indra, Surya, Agni, Ushas, Vayu, Varuna, Mitra, Aditi, Yama, Soma, Sarasvati, Prithvi,  Rudra, Laxmi, Durga, Ganesha etc whom we worship in Hindu temples. In Hinduism Worship is narrated as Upasana done through Hymns (mantras), Proses (narrations) and Chants (recitations). Many sages considered meditations or exploration of self and realisation of super being in self and universally is the worship, or highest form of prayer.

According to Islam belief, only God and Muhammad Phophet are worthy to be worshipped and through prayers people stay connected with God. Fasting helps to develop the sense of sacrifice and self-control, while keeping away from the prime need.

Christian worship is the act of revering God through different acts of singing, dancing, speech, chanting and establishing connection with God through that pure dedicated action. Connecting the heart and soul with the supreme power and enlightening the soul and mind through the process.

Buddhists worship for salvation and Jains worship the virtues.

Adoration, worship, praise, thanksgiving, confession of sin, petition, and intercession are the form of worship we fallow across to purify our soul and to stay connected with source of energy. At different times the human beings have worshipped nature, great people, religious gurus, the monks etc.

Swami Vivekananda says “ Worship everything as God, every form as his temple. All else everything is just delusion. “ He emphasised mostly on internal prayer or worship, which is demonstrated through meditation, the prayers. The external ceremonial worships are the reflections of internal prayers. The manifestation of power within ourselves is SOUL and this SOUL is Purusha and visible power outside is nature, Prakriti or the mother, the origin of feminine character. So loving the children, the people in and around us, being empathetic and compassionate for them universally is the highest form of prayer.

The whole human race, while going through the tough time, lighting that universal consciousness of ‘deep sense of love and care for all’ can help to have a peaceful co-existence.

Love (compassion) is the unifying tendency in the spiritual realm like gravity binds the material world.

Prayer/ devotion/ compassion / Grace programs the Causal body. Pranayama tunes/ energises the Subtle body. Mother Earth (panchatatwa) sustains the Gross body. Alignment of spiritual/ Causal/ Subtle/ Gross will optimise the evolution process.
